How long does the season last

Approx 2 ½ to 3 months pending playoffs and championship games

When and where are games played

Most games are played on Sunday due to the High Schools are using the fields on Friday and Saturdays. Games are played locally, in Homer, Anchorage and Eagle River.

Is there a refund policy if my player changes his mind and decides not to play

It is the policy of Kenai Peninsula Pop Warner to refund ½ of the total registration cost if paid in full prior to the season beginning. Once the season begins refunds are not allowed unless there is proof of household hardship defined in policy.

Can I register after the March registration date

Yes

How much volunteer time is expected from parents

Parents are expected to volunteer at the games, have their players to practice and assist at other various times when asked. We do our best to rotate these duties throughout the season with all parents as to not over utilize. This is a group/team effort and it would not be possible without the participation of parents and players. If there are duties that you would like to volunteer for every game you are welcome to do so. Example: some parents like to volunteer to be on the chain gang every game.

Why must parents participate so much

We are a non-profit organization with a volunteer board. There are no paid positions within the organization. Therefore, we are all working parents giving our time and effort to a success season for the children to learn and grow. Leading by example is the best way to show them how much of an impact that they can have by playing even the smallest role.

Are cheer uniforms part of the registration fees

Yes

Is it mandatory to fundraise

Yes, we have various fundraisers. There are many different positions needed to pull fundraising together from behind the scenes to the front line. No matter your personality we can find a job for you to participate in.

Can I request a certain coach or team

Requests are taken under consideration during registration by the association board. However, the board must abide by the National Pop Warner Association guidelines to place children in teams that their weight and age fall appropriately in. There are regulations against children losing or gaining too much weight during the season to be on teams. Also, balance in team player number must also be obtained. If you have specific concerns please make your request to the Board of Directors and we will consider those on a case by case basis.

Do I need a waiver if I live out of the boundaries of KPPW

Yes
